Welcome to Leamington Rugby Club - Youth Section
Under 12s storm Kenilworth
Oh what a trip to Kenilworth. A fixture that always stands out in the diary, and this was was made slightly spicier after being beaten by the Ks at our festival last season.
Kenilworth always have a turn out of many boys, but Leamington boys and parents braved the conditions to ensure we had a good squad for this match.
The Leamington boys were up for it from the start. Great rucking from the forwards, with Haz Southall, Alex Petrie, Ajay Bawa all showing great development as players. Mature performances from Callum Bobath, Ed Gray and Louis Clarke put real steel into the scrums, rucks and tackles. The backs were confined on a small pitch but still shifted the ball well and broke the resolve of the Kenilworth boys. The 2nd half was tough as changes were made, but even as Kenilworth fought back, the Leamington boys upped their tackles again. Jay Kincaid showing great agression and spirit. Sam Brennan, Emil Midstaeter, & Harry Taylor showed how backs can tackle, and Henry Mortimer bossed the game with great running, passing and kicking. A truly stunning performance from every boy led to a wonderful 35 - 15 victory. try scorers were Henry Mortimer (2), Callum Bobath, Harry Taylor, Haz Southall, Louis Clarke, Ed Gray. A very proud day. |
