News date:
25 February 2010
News description:
Congratulations to Brian Taylor, Phil Evans and Scott Conduit who all passed their LEVEL 2 Coaching Awards. Having already passed "Start rugby" and "Level 1" the "LEVEL 2" offers an altogether more demanding challenge. This is a high level of coaching consisting of at least 69 hours of work(4 days on-course study & off-course study). By the end of the course, successful candidates must be able to demonstrate an understanding of:
- Generic coaching skills
- Rugby specific coaching skills.
- Sports Science
- Coach and player development
- Aspects of team play
- Good practice in coaching
- Health and safety
- Working with parents, attitudes and ethics
- The Laws of rugby union.
The coaches are assessed in their ability to plan and deliver a coaching session and delivering a number of pre-planned sessions as outlined by the tutor.
This is a very challenging level to achieve and is great that three Leamington Coaches have attained this standard. Great News!
